Vita Nuova Member Will Warren has been selected for the Appalachian Regional Commission’s Appalachian Leadership Institute, which empowers its fellows to address the Appalachian region’s unique economic challenges.
The ARC partners with the federal government and 13 state governments to help Appalachian communities achieve economic growth and socioeconomic parity with the nation. Mr. Warren is one of 40 fellows participating in the nine-month leadership and economic development program that follows a comprehensive training curriculum developed by ARC along with the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, The Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy, Tuskegee University, and Collective Impact, LLC. Each class includes representatives from each of the 13 states in the ARC footprint. The fellows will work collectively to exchange ideas, make connections, and advance new opportunities throughout the region.
For over a decade, Mr. Warren has managed public and private development projects, brownfield redevelopment programs, and strategic planning processes. He has also developed economic and community development strategies for local and regional entities. The skills Mr. Warren will learn as part of the Appalachian Leadership Institute will further strengthen Vita Nuova’s capacity to rebuild communities and redevelop complex sites.
