Mary Ann Grena Manley is a Policy Analyst and Communications Strategist with Vita Nuova.
She is an environmental lawyer, policy analyst, and communications expert with more than 20 years of editorial experience in news coverage and regulatory analysis of global environment, health, safety, and sustainability issues. At Vita Nuova, Ms. Grena Manley assists with communications strategy and leads research initiatives focused on federal funding and financial incentives for energy communities and energy transition projects. Her work thoroughly examines eligibility criteria and technical requirements, enhancing Vita Nuova’s capabilities to advise on the evolving energy transition landscape.
Ms. Grena Manley has assisted with developing guidance on the new DOE funding programs for internal and external use, helping Vita Nuova clients understand the benefits of developing surplus properties, retired energy assets, and coal communities. She maintains a “client only” web resource of DOE, USEPA, USDA, and related funding programs. She regularly develops presentations and bulletins for internal and client use and has supported the development of energy transition plans for communities.
With experiences cutting across law, journalism, policy, and marketing, Ms. Grena Manley has played a key role in identifying and initiating strategic relationships, collaborating with national partners, and creating communications, branding, and marketing strategies. She has designed and executed social media campaigns; engineered conference agendas, panel discussions, webinars, and roundtable discussions; and is a seasoned facilitator and public speaker. She has presented at dozens of national conferences, including USEPA’s National Brownfields Conference.
Her policy expertise includes environmental compliance, environmental due diligence, risk management, brownfields redevelopment, sustainability, and ESG.
